Fold over elastic (FOE) is a soft nylon-spandex elastic with a pre-creased centre line, used to bind edges on underwear and lingerie, baby wear, headbands, waistbands and activewear. We make it in our Jaipur factory in 15, 20 and 25mm widths — about 5/8, 3/4 and 1 inch — matte or shiny face, from 1,000 meters per SKU — one width, colour and finish, and we ship to 60+ countries.
We've run twisting, braiding and dyeing machines in our Jaipur factory since 1991. FOE is a working component: it binds the raw edge of lingerie, baby wear, headbands and activewear, and it gets stretched thousands of times over a garment's life. We make it in 15, 20 and 25mm widths, matte or shiny face, with prints possible.
Fold over elastic: construction, matte and shiny face
Fold over elastic is a knitted nylon-spandex elastic with a permanent centre crease, made to fold over a raw fabric edge and bind it in a single pass. The shiny face gives a satin look; the matte face takes prints well and sits flatter against skin.
Why does the fold line matter more than price?
Your operator sews at speed, and the crease is her guide. If the fold line drifts off-centre along the roll, one edge of the binding comes out wider than the other and the garment looks homemade. We check the crease along the length before rolls leave our factory — not just at the roll head.
Ask your supplier for a 5-10 meter running sample cut from an actual production roll, not a swatch card. A swatch hides fold drift; a running length can't.

All three are the same nylon-spandex construction, so a garment that uses 15mm at the leg opening and 25mm at the waistband takes one quote, not two.
Buying FOE by the roll: faces, prints and minimums
Matte and shiny face come off the same construction, so you can mix widths and faces in one order without changing your sewing setup. The minimum is 1,000 meters per SKU, about 1,094 yards, where a SKU is one width, colour and finish.
Prints go on the matte face. We dye in-house, so send a target shade or a physical cutting and we'll match it, then hold the recipe for your reorders.

What is the minimum order for fold over elastic?
Our minimum order is 1,000 meters per SKU. A SKU means one width, colour and finish combination — change any one of them and it is another 1,000 m — so a first order is one tape proven on your own machines. Several shades can ship together, each at its own 1,000 m.
What is the wholesale price of fold over elastic?
₹4-8 per metre ex-works Jaipur. The 16 mm width in stock shades sits at the bottom of the band; 25 mm, shiny faces and custom-matched shades sit toward the top. Can you supply printed fold over elastic?
Yes. Printed fold over elastic is a wholesale line here, and the matte face takes prints best. Headband and baby-wear brands use printed FOE heavily. Send us your artwork and target width and we'll confirm feasibility along with the quote.
How long does shipping take from India to the US?
Air courier from our Jaipur factory reaches the US in 7-10 days; sea freight takes 25-40 days. Most FOE buyers start with an air shipment to approve quality, then move repeat rolls to sea. We quote both options within one working day.
Do you sell fold over elastic by the yard?
We sell it by the meter, wound on rolls, and the minimum is 1,000 meters per SKU — a little over 1,094 yards. That applies per width, so 1 inch fold over elastic at 25mm is its own SKU, as is 5/8 in at 15mm. US buyers usually send us a yardage and we convert it at quote stage, so use whichever unit your paperwork runs on.
