About our factory

Saras Udyog is a family-run cordage factory in Jaipur, Rajasthan. I'm Rachit Pareek — second generation. My family has been in textile cords for over 20 years, and I grew up around twisting machines the way other kids grew up around cricket bats.

What we actually make

Macrame cord, jute rope and twine, paracord, bungee cord, elastic (woven, knitted, braided, fold-over), bias tape, satin and velvet ribbon, velcro tape, embroidery thread, lace, candle wick, curtain tie-backs, t-shirt yarn and shoelaces. Around 17 product families, all cord-adjacent. If it's long, flexible and made of fiber, there's a decent chance it comes off one of our machines.

Why factory-direct matters

Most craft materials cross three or four hands before they reach a shop shelf — exporter, importer, distributor, wholesaler. Each adds 20-40%. We ship straight from the factory floor, which is why resellers who find us tend to stay. (Honestly, the hardest part of this business isn't making good cord — it's convincing buyers that the price isn't a typo.)

What we run in-house

  • Rope twisting and cabling machines — 2 and 3 ply, up to 32mm
  • Braiding machines — cords, laces, paracord sheaths
  • Dye house — matched shades, repeatable between lots
  • Tipping machines — shoelace aglets, cord ends
  • Spooling, coiling and retail-pack lines

That list is the whole pitch. When one factory controls twist, braid, dye and finish, quality problems get caught the same day, not after a container lands.

Where we ship

50+ countries so far. Air courier reaches the US, Europe, Turkey and the Middle East in 7-14 days; sea freight runs 25-40 days. Small trial orders welcome — 100 meters per SKU is enough to start.
