Wholesale Tassels — Made From Our Own Threads, in Any Fibre

✓ Specs last checked: 2026-09-02
We make tassels in our own Jaipur factory, starting from thread we twist and dye ourselves — rayon and viscose for sheen, cotton for a matte hand, silk-look polyester, wool, jute, and zari accents where the design wants metal. Length, head style and shade are all made to order. MOQ is 5,000 pieces per SKU, and every design-size-shade combination counts as its own SKU.

A tassel is only as good as the thread it hangs from, and the thread here is our own: we have been twisting, braiding and dyeing in Jaipur since 1991, and the tassels are made in the same factory as the thread they hang from. Rolls and finished goods ship from here to more than 60 countries.

Because the thread never leaves the building, a tassel order does not chain three suppliers together. One factory holds the shade from dye vat to finished skirt — and when a buyer asks for a fibre we do not run as standard, we make it: wool, jute, or whatever the market is asking for that season.

Which Fibre for Which Job

Buyers usually pick the fibre before the shape, because the fibre decides how the tassel hangs and catches light.

FibreWhere it goes
Rayon / viscoseCurtain and cushion tassels, dupatta and trim work — the high-sheen standard
CottonMatte, natural look — garment, bag and bookmark tassels
Silk-look polyesterSheen close to rayon with harder wear — hospitality and export lines
WoolSoft, full-bodied skirts for home textiles and winter lines
JuteRustic packaging, gift and natural-look ranges
Zari accentsMetallic thread worked into the head or skirt for festive and occasion wear

If the fibre you need is not on that list, ask anyway — other fibres are set up on demand where the volume justifies it.

What Separates a Good Tassel From a Cheap One

Put two tassels side by side and three things give the cheap one away.

  • Skirt fullness — a thin skirt shows daylight through it and twists into a rat-tail after one wash. Fullness is simply more thread, which is why a factory that makes its own thread can afford it.
  • The neck binding — the wrap under the head takes all the strain. Loose binding sheds strands from the first week onward.
  • Shade match across the lot — skirts, head and loop dyed in different batches drift apart. Ours dye in one house against one recipe, and the recipe is archived so a repeat order matches the first.

Hold a sample by the loop and shake it. If strands come loose in your hand, the neck binding has already failed.

How a Tassel Order Runs

Tell us the finished length, the fibre, the shade and the quantity — a photo or physical sample of the tassel you want copied does the job of a long specification. Price and lead time come back within one working day.

  • Minimum — 5,000 pieces per SKU. Each design-size-shade combination is its own SKU; two shades of the same tassel are two SKUs of 5,000 each.
  • Sampling — we make up a physical counter-sample to your reference and courier it for approval before the run starts.
  • Shades — dyed in our own house, matched from your swatch, Pantone code or a length of your existing trim.
  • Head and loop — plain wound heads, netted heads and cord loops are all made here; specify with the sample.
  • Dispatch — production first, then 7-14 days by air or 25-40 days by sea from Jaipur; 2-5 days domestic.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order for wholesale tassels?

5,000 pieces per SKU. Every design-size-shade combination counts as its own SKU, so one tassel in four shades is four SKUs of 5,000 pieces each. Several SKUs can travel in one shipment, and each is quoted at its own minimum.

How much do tassels cost wholesale?

₹3-25 per piece ex-works Jaipur. Small cotton and rayon tassels sit at the floor of the band; large curtain tassels, wool skirts and zari-accented work sit toward the top. Fibre and finished length move the number more than anything else, so send both with the enquiry and the exact figure comes back within one working day.

Which fibres can you make tassels in?

Rayon and viscose, cotton, silk-look polyester, wool and jute are all run here, with zari accents where the design wants metallic thread. The thread is our own — we twist and dye it in the same factory — and if a buyer brings demand for a fibre outside that list, we set it up rather than turn the order away.

Can you copy a tassel from a sample or photo?

Yes. Send the physical tassel or a clear photo with the finished length, and we make up a counter-sample in our fibre and shade for your approval. Production does not start until you have signed off the counter-sample.

How do I judge tassel quality before committing?

Check three things on the sample. Skirt fullness: hold it against the light — a skimpy skirt shows through and loses shape in use. Neck binding: shake the tassel by its loop, and if strands shed, the binding is loose. Shade consistency: head, skirt and loop should match, which only happens reliably when all three are dyed in one house against one recipe, as ours are.

How are tassels packed for export?

Counted into poly bags by SKU, then packed into reinforced export cartons. Air freight runs 7-14 days from Jaipur, sea freight 25-40 days, and domestic dispatch 2-5 days. Export documents for customs clearance travel with every shipment.
