Woven Labels — Dyed Label Tape Base, Cut, Folded and Sealed in Jaipur

✓ Last checked: 2026-07-22
A woven label is made on a jacquard needle loom, and we do not run one — so read this page as a supply-side offer, not a full label service. What we do supply from our own plant in Jaipur is the part that sits underneath every woven label: satin and twill tape base dyed to your ground shade, then cut, folded and heat-sealed into finished label blanks. MOQ is 100 meters per colour, quotes come back within one working day, and we ship worldwide.

Every woven label starts life as a narrow strip of tape. The logo, the size mark and the care symbols are woven into it on a jacquard needle loom; the ground colour, the hand-feel and the way the finished label sits against skin all come from the base tape and from how that tape is cut and folded afterwards.

We work on that second half. Since 2004 our plant in Jaipur has dyed, cut and heat-finished narrow fabrics, and label tape is a natural add-on to that line rather than a headline product. If you already have a jacquard source and need a dependable partner for the dyed base tape and the cut-fold-seal finishing, that is exactly the piece we cover.

What Is a Woven Label, and Which Part Do We Make?

A woven label is a narrow fabric where the design is built from the weave itself rather than printed on top. Warp and weft threads are lifted in a programmed sequence on a jacquard needle loom, so the lettering and logo are structural — they do not crack, peel or wash off the way a print eventually does. Damask, taffeta and satin are the three constructions you will see quoted most often, and they differ mainly in how tightly the ground is woven and how soft the finished label feels.

We do not run jacquard needle looms. That is the honest boundary of this page. Weaving your logo into a tape needs a loom we do not have on our floor, and we will not take an order we cannot make. What we do run is a dye house and a cutting and heat-sealing line, and those cover the rest of the label:

  • Base tape supply — satin tape for a soft, low-scratch label and twill tape where a firmer, more matte ground is wanted
  • Shade dyeing — the ground colour of the tape dyed in-house against your physical swatch, with the recipe held for reorders
  • Cutting — heat cutting to your finished label length so the cut edge is sealed rather than raw
  • Folding — end-fold, centre-fold and loop-fold blanks, folded and set so the label feeds straight into a sewing line
  • Heat sealing — sealed edges and folds that hold through laundering and do not fray in the carton

Put plainly: bring us the woven or unwoven tape and we will finish it, or take our dyed blank tape and weave on it elsewhere. Either way the jacquard step sits outside our walls, and we would rather you knew that before the first email than after the first sample.

How Does Wholesale Buying Work From Our Factory?

Tell us which of the two jobs you want. Either you need dyed base tape by the meter to feed your own jacquard loom, or you need finished blanks — dyed, cut to length, folded and sealed — from tape you supply or tape we dye. Both are quoted within one working day.

  • MOQ of 100 meters per colour, low enough to trial several ground shades in one shipment before a season is committed
  • Custom ground shades dyed in-house against your swatch; the recipe is saved against your account so repeats match
  • Continuous rolls for loom feeding, or cut, folded and sealed blanks counted and polybagged for the sewing floor
  • Repeat orders run against your saved spec, so ground shade, width and fold type do not drift between shipments

A typical first order looks like this: a label converter sends a swatch of the ground colour they use most, takes 100 meters of dyed satin tape, runs it through their own jacquard, and once the shade and the loom behaviour are proven, moves to rolling volume. Nothing about that sequence requires a big first commitment, which is the point of the low MOQ.

If your inquiry is really for finished logo-woven labels, say so plainly. We will tell you that it sits outside our line rather than quoting you into a surprise.

What Do Businesses Use Woven Labels For?

The label itself does several jobs at once, and the buyers who order in volume tend to fall into a few clear groups:

  • Label converters and trim houses — the closest fit to what we supply; they weave the jacquard themselves and buy dyed base tape or outsource the cut-fold-seal step
  • Apparel manufacturers — brand labels at the neck, size marks at the side seam, and care and content labels stitched into an inside seam where regulation requires them
  • Home textile and soft-goods makers — towels, bedding, cushions and bags, where a woven label survives laundering better than any print
  • Bag, footwear and accessory brands — loop-fold labels sewn into a side seam or under a flap, where the label doubles as a small piece of branding

Across all four, two things decide whether a supply relationship lasts: whether the ground shade repeats between shipments, and whether the cut and folded edge stays sealed after washing. Both are decided in the dye house and on the heat-sealing line — which is the half we control.

Why Buy Label Tape Factory-Direct From India?

Base tape and finishing usually reach a US buyer through a chain — weaver, dyer, converter, exporter, importer — and each link adds margin and distance. Buying the dyed and finished tape direct shortens the part of that chain we can actually shorten, and leaves you free to keep your jacquard source wherever it already works well.

Jaipur sits inside a large cotton and narrow-fabric cluster, which is why small custom dye lots are commercially viable here when bigger mills will not quote them. Sea freight to the US runs 30-40 days and air courier 4-7 days; because label tape is a steady-consumption item, most buyers restock by sea on a rolling schedule and keep air for shade approvals and urgent top-ups.

⚠️ Approve the ground shade on a laundered sample, not a dry one. A label that shifts half a tone after the first wash will be noticed at the neck of a garment long before anywhere else.

Also sold as garment labels

Buyers ask for this by several names — garment labels is the same product from our line, made on the same machines to the same specification. Quote it under whichever name your paperwork uses.

A large share are small apparel brands looking for a few thousand finished, logo-woven labels — that buyer needs a jacquard label house, not us. The buyers we can genuinely serve are the label converters and larger apparel suppliers who already weave their own jacquard and need dyed base tape or cut-and-folded blanks in volume. If you are in the first group, say so in your inquiry and we will tell you straight away rather than quoting around it.

Frequently asked questions

Do you weave the labels with our logo in them?

No. Weaving a logo into a tape needs a jacquard needle loom, and we do not run one. We supply the dyed satin or twill tape that a woven label is built on, and we do the cutting, folding and heat sealing after weaving. If you need finished logo-woven labels, you need a jacquard label house — tell us in your inquiry and we will say so straight away instead of quoting around it.

What is the minimum order for label tape?

100 meters per colour. It is set low deliberately, so a converter can trial two or three ground shades in one shipment, run them through their own loom, and only commit to volume once the shade and the loom behaviour are proven.

Can you dye the label tape to our brand ground colour?

Yes. Dyeing is done in our own dye house in Jaipur against your physical swatch or colour reference, and the recipe is saved against your account so a repeat order matches the first shipment. Custom shades start from the 100-meter MOQ.

Can you cut and fold labels from tape we send you?

Yes, that is a common arrangement. You send woven tape, we heat cut it to your finished length, fold it end-fold, centre-fold or loop-fold as specified, seal the edges and return it counted and polybagged ready for the sewing floor. Send the fold type, the finished length and the pack count with your inquiry.

Will the cut edges fray or feel scratchy against skin?

Not if the cut is sealed properly. We heat cut rather than shear cut, so the edge fuses instead of leaving loose ends, and satin base tape gives a softer hand than twill where the label sits at the neck. If skin contact matters for your garment, ask for satin base and say so with your inquiry, and test the sample after laundering before you approve it.
