We make single-face velvet ribbon in Jaipur: a soft polyester pile on a woven base with a smoother satin reverse, in six standard widths from 6 mm to 50 mm, dyed in our own dye house. Burgundy, wine, emerald, navy, anthracite and black are standard shades, and we dye outside that card to your reference. MOQ is 1,000 metres — about 1,094 yards — per SKU, and every width-and-shade combination counts as its own SKU.
We have been making ribbon and cord at our own factory in Jaipur since 1991. Twisting, braiding, dyeing and tipping all sit under our own roof, velvet included — we do not send it out to be dyed. Rolls ship to buyers in more than 60 countries.
What we make is the single-face version: a polyester pile on a woven base, with firm edges that do not fray where the ribbon is cut.

Burgundy, wine, emerald, navy, anthracite and black are the shades we run as standard. Because the dye house is ours, we also dye to a tone outside that card, matched from your physical swatch or colour reference. The minimum is the same either way: 1,000 metres per SKU.
What to Check When You Judge Velvet
Three things tell you what a velvet ribbon is worth, and all three can be checked on a cut length in the hand.
Pile density — hold the ribbon up to the light. On cheap velvet the pile is sparse and the woven ground shows through it.
Crush recovery — press the pile with a finger. Good pile lifts back within a few seconds; pile that stays flattened leaves a bow looking crushed from the first day.
Colour fastness — we do the dyeing ourselves, so every batch is tested separately. A ribbon that gives up colour onto pale gift paper comes back as a return.
The edge is a smaller tell but a real one: an edge that is not cut cleanly is a machine problem rather than a scissors problem. Ours are finished firm so they do not fray at the cut.
How Ordering Works
Send the widths, the shades and the metreage. A quote comes back within one working day.
Minimum — 1,000 metres, about 1,094 yards, per SKU. Every colour-and-width combination is its own SKU, so ten combinations comes to 10,000 metres. Several widths and shades can travel in one shipment; each is quoted at the minimum.
Custom shades — matched in our own dye house from a physical swatch or a colour reference, at the same minimum per SKU.
Samples — we send samples of the widths and shades you intend to buy before the production run is closed.
Rolls — roll length is made to order; width, shade and metreage are all set with the order.
Production — two to three weeks, depending on the metreage and the number of shades. Dispatch then runs 7-14 days by air or 25-40 days by sea.

Ex-works Jaipur — about 2 to 6 days by surface across India. Freight is to your account, by your transporter or ours. Export orders are quoted separately with air and sea options.
