Organza Ribbon, 6-100mm — Dyed, Cut and Heat-Sealed in Jaipur

✓ Specs last checked: 2026-09-02
We supply sheer polyester organza ribbon from 6mm to 100mm, dyed to your shade, cut to the width you order, heat-sealed on both edges against fraying, and wound to reel with the metreage checked reel by reel. The organza base cloth reaches us already woven. The dyeing, the cutting, the edge sealing, the winding and the aglet — when the ribbon goes out as a pouch drawcord — are done in our own plant in Jaipur, running since 1991. MOQ is 1,000 metres, about 1,094 yards, per SKU, and each width and shade counts separately.

Cordage and narrow-ribbon factory in Jaipur, India, running since 1991. On organza the cloth reaches us already woven; our part is to dye it, cut it to width, heat-seal the edge so it does not fray, wind it to reel, and — when the ribbon goes out as the drawcord of a pouch — fit the aglet.

What Organza Ribbon Is Made Of, and What We Do Here

The commercial organza that runs as ribbon is polyester: cheaper than silk organza, more resistant to damp, and far more stable in colour.

The base cloth reaches our plant already woven. We would rather put that in the quote than sell work we do not do. Everything after the cloth happens under our own roof.

StageWhat happens
DyeingBathed in our own dyehouse, shade matched from a physical sample or a colour reference
CuttingThe cloth is slit to the widths ordered, 6 to 100 mm
EdgeHeat-sealed on both sides, which is what keeps organza from fraying in handling
WindingWound to reel, with the metreage checked reel by reel
AgletFitted when the ribbon is supplied as a pouch drawcord, with the tip finished

Sealing is standard on every width we produce. It is not an extra.

Widths by Application

  • Wedding and party — chair bows, table sashes, bouquets, hall decoration. Widths 38 to 100 mm.
  • Gift packaging and favours — a bow over kraft paper or a rigid box. Widths 10 to 25 mm.
  • Craft and stationery — invitations, scrapbooking, hair bows, costume jewellery. Widths 6 to 15 mm.
  • Organza pouches — the closing drawcord itself goes out as narrow ribbon with an aglet, made here.

One width in one shade is one SKU.

Ordering: Minimum, Colour and Put-Up

Send the width, the colour and the metreage, and we come back with a quote and a lead time.

  • Minimum — 1,000 metres, about 1,094 yards, per SKU, where a SKU is one width in one shade. It counts per SKU rather than per order, so three shades in one width is 3,000 metres. Several widths and shades can travel in one shipment; each is quoted at the minimum.
  • Colour — send a physical sample, or a snip of the ribbon you already use. A screen reference nearly always misleads, because glossy polyester reflects differently from what a monitor shows. Once the first lot is approved, repeats run off the same dye record, which is what holds the colour consistent between orders.
  • Put-up — reels from 25 m to 1,000 m, metreage checked reel by reel, in export cartons.
  • Aglets — fitted when the ribbon is supplied as a pouch drawcord rather than as ribbon on a reel.
  • Transit — air 7-14 days, sea 25-40 days to port, plus clearance.

For mm-to-inch conversions of common ribbon widths, see the ribbon width chart.

Frequently asked questions

Do you weave the organza yourselves?

No — we finish it. The organza cloth arrives at our plant already woven. What we do here is the dyeing, the cutting to width, the heat sealing of both edges, the winding to reel, and the aglet when the ribbon goes out as a pouch drawcord. We would rather make that clear in the quote than sell work we do not do.

What is the minimum order for wholesale organza ribbon?

1,000 metres, about 1,094 yards, per SKU. A SKU is one width in one shade, so two shades in the same width is 2,000 metres. Several widths and shades can go in one shipment, with each quoted at its own minimum.

How much does organza ribbon cost?

₹3-12 per metre ex-works Jaipur. Width drives it: 6 mm favour-tag ribbon at the bottom, 100 mm sash widths at the top, with heat-sealed edges included at every width. Custom shades carry the dye-lot premium.

Does the edge fray?

No. Heat sealing on both sides is standard on every width we produce, and it is what holds the organza yarn in place through bow-tying and handling at the point of sale.

Can you match organza ribbon to an exact colour?

In most cases, yes. The dyeing is ours, so we match the tone from a physical sample of the ribbon or of the material you want it to sit against. Send the swatch with your enquiry — a screen reference usually misleads on glossy polyester, because the monitor does not show how the material reflects. Once the first lot is approved, the repeat runs off the same dye record.

How long does delivery take?

Air freight is 7 to 14 days and sea is 25 to 40 days to port, plus customs clearance.
