We twist, dye and wind embroidery thread in our own Jaipur factory and ship it as skeins, balls or cones to more than 60 countries. The natural, undyed mouliné is cotton, six strands to the skein. Dyed mouliné shades are spun polyester, finished matte and soft to look and feel like cotton, and they hold the shade through industrial laundering and abrasion. Mouliné or Machine Embroidery Thread?
We make both, because the two do different jobs.
Mouliné is six-strand hand-embroidery thread: you separate the strands and work with one, two or all six, depending on the stitch. It has a matte, natural look, and it is the standard choice for hand embroidery, cross-stitch, punch needle, trousseau work and beginner kits. It comes in skeins.
Machine embroidery thread is the workhorse of the production line: it does not break at high speed, it does not fade in the wash, and it keeps its shine. It comes on cones, and it is what logo and patch production runs on.
The fibre split is clear. Natural, undyed mouliné is cotton — order that line directly when the work wants a matte, natural hand. Dyed shades are spun polyester, finished matte and soft to look and feel like cotton: it holds the colour better from order to order, and it stands up better to industrial laundering and abrasion, which is why it is also the choice for workwear and promotional textiles. How We Dye Without a Batch Difference
A batch difference is the same colour coming out of two dye vats and not matching. Here, twisting, dyeing and winding all happen inside the same factory, and every shade has its dye recipe on record — order the same colour six months later and the same recipe runs.
For colour matching, send a Pantone code or a length of the thread you are matching. Our dyehouse runs a lab dip and submits it for your approval, and we do not start production until that approval comes back. Because the recipe is archived, later orders are dyed from it rather than drifting away from it.

Ordering Embroidery Thread in Bulk From Jaipur
To quote, we need the product type — mouliné or machine thread — the number of shades and the total metreage, plus a Pantone code or a physical sample for any colour you want matched. Price and lead time come back within one working day.
Minimum — 1,000 metres, about 1,094 yards, per SKU. Every shade is its own SKU, so 20 shades comes to 20,000 metres. Several shades can travel in one shipment, each quoted at its own minimum, which is why it is usually easier to keep the shade count narrow on a first order and plan the metreage shade by shade.
Samples — we send samples of our standard qualities and shades so you can judge the thread in the hand. The minimum is a production quantity, not a way to test a palette; for a shade developed to your own reference, the lab dip is the approval step.
