What separates good shock cord from cheap shock cord?
The core is rarely the problem. Latex is latex — it stretches, it recovers. The sheath is where cords live or die. A polyester braid holds its colour and shrugs off sunlight. Polypropylene costs less but chalks and weakens outdoors unless it's properly UV-stabilised.
So when you compare quotes, don't compare per-meter price. Compare the sheath: fibre type, braid density, UV treatment. We braid in-house on our own machines, which means we control all three.

How is bungee cord priced?
₹8-25 per metre ex-works Jaipur. Diameter does most of the work: 3 mm shock cord sits near the floor of the band and 12 mm with a dense braided sheath near the top. Hook-fitted cut lengths are quoted separately from plain rolls.
Is polyester or polypropylene better for a bungee cord sheath?
Polyester is the better sheath for outdoor use because it resists UV and holds colour longer. Polypropylene is lighter and cheaper, which works fine for indoor or short-life applications. We braid both in-house, so the right choice depends on where the cord will spend its life.
