Jute rope is a twisted natural-fibre rope made from the stalk of the jute plant. We twist it at our factory in Jaipur: 2mm garden twine up to 32mm decor rope, 2 and 3-ply, spooled or coiled however your line needs it.

We've been in cords since 1991 and ship to 60+ countries. MOQ is 1,000 meters per SKU.

From jute twine to thick jute rope — sizes and constructions we make

The full run is 2mm to 32mm. The thin end is jute twine — 2-4mm, 2-ply, the workhorse for packaging, tagging, and garden tying. From 6mm up you're into proper twisted rope, 3-ply, used for decor, handles, pet furniture, and display work.

  • Jute twine (2-4mm): 2-ply, spooled, packaging and garden use
  • Mid rope (6-12mm): 3-ply twisted, coiled or spooled
  • Thick rope (14-32mm): 3-ply, coiled, decor and statement applications

Standard finish is natural golden jute. We dye in-house, so muted colour runs are possible on the same MOQ of 1,000 meters (about 1,094 yards) per SKU.

In inches, 6mm is about 1/4", 10mm about 3/8", 12mm about 1/2", 20mm about 3/4" and 25mm about 1". US buyers also ask for this rope as burlap rope or burlap twine — burlap is woven from the same jute fibre, so quote it under whichever name your paperwork uses.

Where does jute rope actually get used?

Packaging is the biggest use — gift wrap, hang tags, hampers. Then there's decor: railing wraps, mirror frames, lampshades, cat scratch posts, wedding styling. Craft retail wants short spooled put-ups; industrial packers want big coils. We pack both.

Jute is a natural fibre. It absorbs moisture and loses strength when wet, so don't spec it for load-bearing or marine work. Use it where texture and biodegradability are the point — packaging, garden, decor, craft.

Not sure which diameter fits your product? Send us a photo of the application. We'll spec it and quote within one working day.

Frequently asked questions

Is jute rope strong enough for heavy use?

Jute rope has good dry strength for packaging, garden, and decor work, but it weakens when wet. It isn't the right choice for marine or load-bearing safety applications. Keep jute where its natural look and biodegradability matter, and use synthetics for lifting.

What is the difference between jute rope and jute twine?

The difference is mainly thickness — jute twine runs about 2-4mm while jute rope starts around 6mm. Twine is usually 2-ply and spooled for packaging and garden use. Rope is 3-ply twisted and coiled for decor and heavier applications. If you need heavy 3-ply twine for horticulture, see our garden twine page.

What is the minimum order for bulk jute rope?

Our MOQ is 1,000 meters — about 1,094 yards — per SKU. A SKU is one diameter in one colour, so a second diameter or a second shade carries its own 1,000 meters. A first order is usually one size run through your own line; several sizes in one shipment is fine and costs the minimum for each.

What is the wholesale price of jute rope?

₹4-25 per metre ex-works Jaipur. Diameter does almost all of it — 2 mm twine gauge at the floor, 32 mm rope at the ceiling. Jute is bought by weight in the trade, so on request we quote the same rope per kilogram alongside the per-metre figure.

How long does jute rope shipping from India take?

Air courier takes 7-14 days to most markets and sea freight takes 25-40 days. For the US, plan on 7-14 days by air and 25-40 days by sea from Jaipur. If you need stock for the November decor peak in the Gulf, book sea freight by early September.

Do you sell jute ki rassi and sutli wholesale?

Haan — this page covers the full jute line, from 2 mm sutli up to 32 mm jute ki rassi. The fibre is the same golden jute throughout; only the diameter and construction change. MOQ is 1,000 metres per SKU with 2-5 day dispatch across India.
